I don’t want to write about how Charlie Kirk’s death affected me. I want to write about how his death affected us. All of us. Us as a unit, a unified America. Like it or not, we are all here, we are all Americans.
The divide between our polar opposite potentials, manifested in their extremes, becomes wider. What happened to that gray area in the middle? It turns out that gray area is more like the eye of the storm, and we swirl around it, sort of desperate for it, a place that feels like compromise … but it’s a false sense of security. What we really need is for the storm to make its way, fulfill its purpose; and then we will land back on our feet, look around at each other when the dust settles, and clean up our country.
In a place where everyone is just looking for freedom, is there room for corruption? Perhaps too long we have shrugged off the reality of the devil in our midst. We gave him an inch, and he went miles and miles, found secret places to hide, had his minions tell us lies.
We thought we could make it work. We were just imagining things. Maybe it’s our fault. Maybe we married the psychopath, thinking if we just hung in there, it would all work out for the best.
Things can actually work out, but not if we stay silent. We’ve got to take this devil to divorce court. We’ll have to face reality, not run from it. We’ll have to take that desperate part of us and that responsible part of us and sit them down together and tell them they’re the only ones who can fix this. Because the truth is, we have set ourselves up for success. We have the strength and the intelligence within us to get back on our feet and see the world for the beautiful place that it is. We have to decide once and for all — we have to decide once, and decide for all of us — that we want to manifest the potentials that bask in light. These are joy, peace and love.
In your own heart, it’s a relatively easy decision to make. Together, it will be a collaboration. It will require focus, intention, effort. It will require asking what your strengths are, and offering them to another, without condition, but in service to the whole.
Shed the imperatives of your past self, but look at yourself with love, just as you are — as you were in childhood before you started living for money, or just to get by, or thinking that you didn’t belong. This is the part of us we share. Our innocence still lives within our shared soul: a blank slate and nothing to create but love from love. It’s the tool and the product.
Pain and anxiety are a fog around us, and the devil has his tail cranking the lever on the fog machine, slyly smiling at our hurt. When we cast him out, when we are shining the light within our hearts so brightly that there is no dark place left for him to hide, the fog will dissipate, and we’ll see each other as if for the first time.
There will be tears as hearts crack open. But there will be peace. There will be knowing looks with no words required. We will know that we all went through it together, and we survived; not only that, we uncovered a world we forgot existed, one where we can feel real relaxation, look upon each other as friend, with loving curiosity, support and a common thread: a golden baseline self reaching out from the heart and embracing the good which now rests before us, waiting for us to be ready to experience it. We won’t need to feel worthy because we will know it, we will know our individual value and our shared values. And shine we will.
If we can hold this truth until it is self-evident, we can make it through the hard time. We needn’t place blame so much as acknowledge truth. We find that truth in our spirit, sometimes instantly and sometimes over time, but we find it, and together we will live it, glorify it, amplify it forever in our hearts and on this Earth as long as we are here.
…
The key to overcoming the obstacles before us lies not in the political sphere. With such drastically opposing ideologies presented to us, we must ask: Where do they come from? What is the genesis, the root motivation, behind the conservative archetype and the liberal one? It’s been said these are two wings of the same bird, but then who is the bird in control of these wings? What unifies them as a being, flying in a particular direction? These questions must be answered on your own terms.
Charlie loved all people, but he was an oracle. He was smart, and witty, and had an answer for everything because he accessed a deeper truth, the type of truth that all other truths succumb to. He held up a mirror to the curious, but those who weren’t ready recoiled. Those who watched from a distance, not listening, just seeing their validators of hate slip away, cracking under the pressure, can only call names and call for vengeance.
I don’t see evidence that Charlie hated anyone. I only see evidence that he is both widely loved and hated for expressing heartfelt traditional values.
If you resist traditional values, ask yourself why. Isn’t freedom one of them, on which our nation was founded? Those who consistently refer to the Constitution and the Bible as sources of truth represent the honor of freedom. These are both manmade documents, but they are both guided by the loving hand of the Creator, despite manipulations and criticisms from humans newer to the planet than both writings.
If you wanted to replace either of them with a new source of truth, what would it be? And could it not be torn apart by your rivals?
The unifying factor of humanity is our soul and our quest for freedom. To know your spirit doesn’t require religion, but it does require patience, forgiveness and the acknowledgment of your responsibility in your own state of affairs, and by extension the state of the environment around you. We all have darkness, and we are accountable to face it without projecting it onto others.
Heaven on Earth is waiting.
